A living room that opened the tour.

A Queen Anne craftsman had tall windows and heavy furniture that hid them. One staged week later, daylight led every showing — and offers followed in five days.

Styled living room with blue armchairs and bright windows

Great light, buried under heavy pieces.

The craftsman’s tall windows should have been its best feature, yet oversized dark furniture crowded the glass and the room photographed small and dim. Buyers loved the street and hesitated at the doorway — the first impression never matched the home’s true size.

We swapped weight for air: two blue armchairs angled to the windows, a glass-topped coffee table, sheers instead of drapes, and a tall mirror that doubled the daylight. A single large artwork replaced a wall of small frames, and greenery softened the fireplace corner.

The living-room image became the listing cover the same day. Five days later, the sellers accepted an offer 10.1% above asking from buyers who toured twice.

Closer look

The room went from the listing’s weakest photo to its cover shot. Showings doubled that same week.
